Denise Rodgers is the author of two books of poetry: A Little Bit of Nonsense (Creative
Writing Press) and Great Lakes Rhythm
& Rhyme (River Road Publications). Her poetry has also appeared in two anthologies
edited by the first US Children’s Poet Laureate Jack Prelutsky, including The 20th Century Children’s
Poetry Treasury (Knopf Books for Young Readers), and Read a Rhyme, Write a Rhyme (Random House, LLC).
Many of her poems
have been published in children’s magazines, as well as in textbooks in the US and
around the world, by publishers such as
Macmillan, Oxford, Plantyn, Notgrass, BJU Press, and Perfection Learning. Many of her poems have also appeared in standardized tests, such as the MEAP (Michigan Educational Assessment Program), and EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office of Toronto, Ontario).
Denise Rodgers resides in metro Detroit with her husband and Rosie, a rambunctious cocker spaniel. She is delighted to live walking distance from her two adult sons and their families, including six beautiful, smart, and wonderfully talented grandchildren. (Just ask her.)
