Poetry Lady School Visits are an online session of poetry and fun! Your choice of wordplay or seasonal poetry. Denise Rodgers, aka The Poetry Lady, has visited countless schools in Michigan and nearby states, giving presentations and poetry workshops.
She is now giving online virtual visits...virtually anywhere technology allows, using Zoom or your choice of connection. Typical visits include 15 minutes of discussion, fifteen minutes of group writing time along with The Poetry Lady, and fifteen to twenty minutes of Q&A, which is also an opportunity for students to read their own poems to the workshop group.
It's fun to write poetry and share with family and friends. It's also fun to share your poetry with the world. For this reason, young poets are encouraged to share their very best work by posting to ClassroomPoems.com after the Poetry Lady School Visit and even after the visit if still inspired to write poetry!
While everyone loves to rhyme (and should, if they like), The Poetry Lady also gives lessons in:
* Alliteration
* Onomatopoeia
* Metaphor and Simile
* Personification
* Other topics at your request
Keep in mind that "all wordplay leads to poetry." This is a favorite quote of The Poetry Lady Denise Rodgers
Whether your brick and mortar school is back in session, online for the duration, or if you're an avid homeschool parent, this is a great opportunity to group with others to share the cost and get the full benefit of a Poetry Lady School Visit! Fill out the form for more information below.
