You were my best friend,
My best buddy until the end.
I remember how we would play,
Running, fetching, having fun all day.

I didn’t want you to go,
I loved you so!
But you were old and in pain,
Trying to save you would have been in vain.

It’s been years since you passed away
But my love will never sway.
I hope to see you one day again,
My four-legged, furry friend!
